At Catholic Healthcare Partners, we are committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve, with emphasis on people who are poor and under-served. Reflecting the ongoing challenge of poverty in the communities we serve, in 2005 CHP increased total spending on community benefit nearly 16% over 2004, providing nearly $240.6 million in charity care and benefits to the broader community. The total reflects the actual cost of our care, and does not include bad debt or Medicare losses.
