The report estimated economic impact for calendar year 2005, the last year for which current information was available at the time the research was done.

Awards and Recognition
In 2006, Mercy Hospital, Scranton was named to Solucient’s annual list of the nation’s 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals. This was the third consecutive year that the hospital received this honor.
Mercy Health Partners – Northeast Region received The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s 2007 Achievement Award Honoring Excellence and Innovation in Health Care.
For its leadership in becoming the first tobacco-free hospital in Lackawanna County, Mercy Hospital, Scranton received the Lackawanna County Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse’s Community Service Award.
The American Lung Association of Pennsylvania issued a Commendation to Mercy Health Partners – Northeast Region for instituting a totally smoke-free campus policy.
In 2007, Mercy Hospital, Scranton was named among the 100 Top Hospitals for cardiovascular care by Thomson Healthcare (formerly Solucient). This was the fourth time that Mercy Hospital, Scranton had been named to the list.
