Mercy Health Partners (Northern Region)

Based in Toledo, Ohio, Mercy Health Partners (Northern Region) serves the community with seven acute care hospitals. St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center is a top-designated Level I trauma center, and home to four Life Flight air ambulances. Mercy Health Partners (Northern Region) also operates foundations; multiple community-based diagnostic and medical centers; and Mercy College of Northwest Ohio, which offers nursing and allied health degree programs.

The four-story, 135,000-square-foot Regional Heart & Vascular Center at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center opened in 2007 and is the centerpiece of St. Vincent’s $90 million investment to enhance services and facilities. It includes 77 patient beds, four cardiac catheterization labs, two electrophysiology suites and three open-heart operating suites and is the area’s first freestanding facility dedicated to heart and vascular care.

The report estimated economic impact for calendar year 2005, the last year for which current information was available at the time the research was done.

    In 2006 and 2007, St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center was named to Solucient’s annual list of the nation’s 100 Top Performance Improvement Leaders.

    In 2006, Mercy Health Partners – Northern Region was named one of the nation’s 100 Most Wired Health Systems by Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association.

    Mercy Hospital of Tiffin was recognized in 2006 by the Ohio Hospital Association’s Statewide Hospital Safety Campaign for being among the 20% of Ohio hospitals with the lowest employee injury rates.

    St. Anne Mercy Hospital received Hospitals for a Healthy Environment’s Making Medicine Mercury-Free Award in 2006.

    In 2007, St. Charles Mercy Hospital received Hospitals for a Healthy Environment’s Partners for Change Award for the third consecutive year.

    St. Charles Mercy Hospital received the Press Ganey Compass Award for 2007 for the Inpatient category, which recognizes organizations that demonstrate a commitment to using patient satisfaction data to improve the quality of healthcare.

    Mercy Hospital of Willard received a workplace safety award in 2007 from the Ohio Hospital Association for having the lowest employee injury rate among Ohio hospitals of its size.
