Letter from Our CEO
Throughout Catholic Health Partners (CHP), our goal is to partner with employed physicians to produce higher quality, better coordinated, more efficient care in each of the communities we serve. We are working to more than double the number of employed physicians within CHP over the next one to two years in order to achieve this goal.
There are a number of important qualities that we are looking for in the physicians we recruit. They must have a strong commitment to improving the quality of healthcare and to practicing evidence-based medicine. In addition, they must be willing to implement new technologies such as an electronic health record, and they must be willing to operate their practices efficiently and productively.
We also want physicians who are willing to practice in a team-based, patient-centered environment; who will provide preventative care and manage chronic disease; and who will coordinate communication across providers. Physicians who join CHP should also be willing to provide care to the indigent and uninsured, in keeping with the mission of our health care ministry.
In turn, we are developing expertise in physician operations and including physicians on our senior management teams. We are also empowering physicians to govern their own practices and guide CHP in improving the safety, quality and efficiency of our care. To provide employed physicians with the tools they need to be successful, we are hiring professional physician practice managers and developing the infrastructure necessary for the efficient management of physician services.
All across CHP we are building effective, collaborative relationships with employed physicians and partnering with them to develop solutions that will result in better care for patients.
