--Catholic Health Partners

Cincinnati, OH (Sept. 6, 2011) -- At 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011, Humility of Mary Health Partners (HMHP) in Youngstown turned on CarePATH, the Mahoning Valley’s first fully integrated electronic health record system. HMHP is a part of the Catholic Health Partners system.

CarePATH connects the patient’s medical information between the hospitals’ inpatient nursing and surgical units, the hospitals’ outpatient departments and clinics, the emergency departments, and all affiliated physician offices.

CarePATH is now in use at HMHP’s St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, St. Elizabeth Boardman, Emergency and Diagnostic Centers in Austintown and Andover, at two Urgent Care Centers in Trumbull County and at more than 40 out-patient areas like Diagnostic Centers, Cancer Care Centers and HMHP Laboratories.

HMHP previously implemented CarePATH for its ambulatory clinics and employed physician offices on Nov.1, 2010.

HMHP began preparing for CarePATH more than a year ago. The CarePATH clinical project involved almost everyone in HMHP: nurses, doctors, pharmacists, lab and radiology, information technology, educators and administrators.  Thousands of hours of planning, design, equipment installation and testing began in earnest in January of 2011.
In addition to HMHP’s highly-trained physicians and staff who launched CarePATH, about 500 experts from HMHP’s partners at EPIC Systems, Catholic Health Partners and Dell Computers came to the Valley beginning in January to help HMHP launch CarePATH®.

With CarePATH in place, the physicians and staff of HMHP, including St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown and St Elizabeth Boardman Health Center stand ready to serve the health care needs Valley for the next 100 years. While health care is changing rapidly, HMHP is committed to continuing to provide the right blend of cutting edge technology and compassionate care that produces excellent outcomes and exceptional patient experiences.
